Video Slideshows

24 09 2011

I just uploaded some new video slideshows of some previous work. This new professional program I am using is absolutely incredible – it sure beats anything you will see out of PowerPoint. I’m considering offering slideshows like this for my clients. You know, the ones brides and grooms struggle over to piece together? If I’m given all the pictures on a disk, named in order, i.e. 1filename, 2filename, 3filename, I can whip of these quite nicely. The beauty of it is you can then post it to YouTube or Facebook.

This wedding was a 1930s wedding, so naturally, I chose “The Entertainer” as the soundtrack. Just click on the photo to be taken to it. You’ll be impressed.

First day of Showcase over, looking forward to Day 2

24 09 2011

Wow, I was really impressed with the turnout at today’s Showcase in Estevan’s Spectra Place. The response was just amazing! I had lots of people asking about commercial and bike photography, as well as some family shots. The albums of a Harley, a drilling rig, and several weddings were very well received. I am pleased to say most who leafed through them were impressed. It made me quite happy to see that.

Just a note: click on the galleries link above to see some new video slideshows I just posted, as well as all my photo galleries.

Remember Romper Room? I would like to say goodnight to Dave, Robert, Amber, Brittany, Garnet x2, Bryan, Ryan, Alicia, Sharon, and you too!

See you tomorrow!

Come see me at the Estevan Showcase

23 09 2011

Well, it’s here folks. The Estevan Showcase tradeshow will take place at the brand spanking new Spectra Place Events Centre.

The Showcase hours are as follows:

  • Friday, Sept 23  –  4 pm – 9 pm
  • Saturday, Sept 24 – 10 am – 6 pm
  • Sunday, Sept 25 – 10 am – 4 pm

My booth, Brian Zinchuk Publishing, is really easy to find. From the entrance, go along the left side. I’m the fourth one in on the inside.

What’s really special is I will be trying out my new photobooth arrangement. It’s really cool – set up just like those old fashioned photobooths you would see in a train station or airport. Sit down on the bench, I take four pictures, print them out, and there you go!

And since this is my first time out with this, for a limitted time, I will be doing this for just $5 bucks! You gotta try it!

In the future, this service will be available for things like Christmas parties, wedding receptions, maybe even grads, for a flat rate for a few hours. It’s definitely one way to liven up the party!

As well, I just received my newest albums from Italy. They are on display at my booth. These will knock your socks off. I think they weigh around, oh, six or seven pounds, EACH. Those who have had a sneak peak at them on Thursday had never seen anything like that before. I now have sample albums for a wedding, a drilling rig, and a Harley. Detailed shots will be in an upcoming blog post here.

I’ve also got a couple print samples, one of a gatorboard metallic print, and another of a canvas wrap, that are quite impressive. If anyone would like a copy one of these, I will be taking orders on site for delivery in a couple weeks. The drilling rig canvas wrap would make a great present for any rig hand. Remember, Christmas is coming!

If anyone would like to talke to me about weddings, grads, family or commercial shoots, I will be taking bookings.

Finally, I am revamping my website. www.Zinchuk.ca will now re-direct here, to my blog. It’s much cleaner, and I intend on updating it several times a week.

From this page you will be able to go to my galleries page for viewing or print orders. All print orders will be through my online proofing provider. It’s really easy – just find a picture you like, click print, pick what you are looking for (there’s oh, about 400 options), pay with a credit card via secure server, and it is shipped directly to you.

I look forward to seeing you this weekend!

Karen & Rene Video Slideshow

18 09 2011

Karen and Rene had a country-themed wedding in the fall a few years ago. This is one of my first video slideshows. Check it out and let me know what you think. This is going to be a standard feature for all weddings in the future, methinks. The video can be seen up to 720p, and will also be available on my galleries site, galleries.zinchuk.ca.

Photobooth coming to Estevan Showcase

17 09 2011

Remember those old fashioned photobooths, where you would go behind a curtain, get four pictures taken, and get a strip of photos? I will be doing something like that for the Estevan Showcase trade show next weekend. Be sure to come check it out at booth 71, just to the left as you enter the main entrance of the show.

Seeman 25th

Happy 25th anniversary to the Seemans! I did grad photos for their daughter Cassie this spring. This was one of the photos taken then. We had a hoot on grad day. Congrats!

It’s not just the bride and groom kissing

5 09 2011

Moore Bunnell WeddingThese are the grandparents of the groom of a wedding I did in October, 2007. Their love for each other was obvious, and I ‘encouraged’, okay, commanded them, to give each other a kiss. He didn’t seem to mind, as evidenced by the giant smile on his face afterwards.

I was showing my aunt a sample wedding album I have had done up recently, and she pointed out that there were a lot of people kissing in it. She actually went through and counted 10 photos of the bride and groom kissing. I hadn’t realized it at first, but she was right.

If you aren’t going to kiss on your wedding day, when are you?

So I take a lot pictures of people kissing on the big day. It turns out, the gentleman here passed away a few months later. I’m glad I was able to provide the family with something that reminded them of the love between them.

What should you take from this? If I’m your wedding photographer, better pucker up! You never know, you might enjoy it!

Sharisse & Chris game night

3 09 2011

I’ve just finished migrating all my older wedding galleries to my new site, which makes for a lot easier viewing. I’ll be posting a few photos from those weddings here now.

This is from Sharisse and Chris. They were married on a -30 C day in December, 2007. The photos were obviously taken indoors.

When I asked them what they like to do together, the answer was board games and computer games. So we got together a few props and made it a game night.

Hurricane Irene impacts weddings slated for the weekend – Aug. 29, 2011

30 08 2011

Wow, this is an extreme case, but it really does show you should have back up plans for your wedding should the worst weather happen.  This was found on www.cnn.com.

Hurricane Irene impacts weddings slated for the weekend – Aug. 29, 2011.

Tim’s Bike

30 08 2011

While visiting my brother-in-law the other day I convinced him to take out his recently acquired motorbike and let me take a few shots. Here is the result. Click on the photo to be taken to the gallery. I must say, it was an effective use of shadows, low light, and off-camera flash.
